Ingredients

3 1/4 cups water

3/4 cup uncooked steel cut oats

1/4 cup pearled variety uncooked pearl barley

1/4 cup uncooked bulgur

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 large apple, Gala or Fuju, cored and chopped

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp table salt

Directions

1. Mix everything in a 3- to 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. The porridge can stay on the keep-warm setting for up to 2 hours. Serving size: 3/4 cup.
